Eighth notes land on a full beat after every 2 notes and on a one every 8 notes.

Shifter over 3 eighth notes:

On a full beat, the shifter over 3 eighth notes land again after LCM(3, 2) = 6 notes, i.e. the first time on the four in the same measure. The shifter lands on a one again after LCM(3, 8) = 24 notes, i.e. for the first time on the one in the 4th bar.

Shifter over 5 eighth notes:

On a full count, the shifter over 5 eighth notes lands again after LCM(5, 2) = 10 notes, i.e. the first time on the two in the following bar. The shifter lands on a one again after LCM(5, 8) = 40 notes, i.e. for the first time on the one in the 6th bar.
